ENUGU, NIGERIA — After five weeks of intensive learning, practical sessions, and exciting experiences, the 2026 ICT Summer Boot Camp at Verbum Networks, CIDJAP, Enugu, came to a successful close on Friday, September 11, 2026.
All twenty-one graduates, certificates in hand, at the closing ceremony — Verbum Networks, CIDJAP, Enugu.
Lessons Beyond the Screen
The closing ceremony featured an inspiring session by Engr. Paulinus Eze, Administrative Manager and Head of Department for Networking, who encouraged students to keep learning, practicing, and growing with technology — while spending less time pressing their phones and more time reading good books.
Rev. Fr. Magnus Anyiam, Director of Verbum Networks, followed with a mini-seminar on Public Speaking and Leadership Skills, sharing practical lessons on confidence, preparation, effective communication, leadership, and facing one's fears. For a cohort that spent five weeks building technical skills, it was a fitting reminder that knowing how to build something is only half the equation — knowing how to present it, lead with it, and speak about it matters just as much.
Standout Students Take the Stage
The outstanding Web Development students — Kierean and Ukaegbu of Emudo, and Chinonso Mbani of Uhueze — impressed everyone with their PowerPoint presentations, putting five weeks of learning on full display in front of facilitators, instructors, and guests.
Certificates and Gifts
Certificates were presented by Fr. Magnus, while Charity Ani, Country Representative for Ifiwerexyz, presented Certificates of Participation and Excellence to deserving students, encouraging them to keep working hard to perfect their skills.
Miss Olivia Omeje, the boot camp's Web Development instructor, added a beautiful personal touch — presenting gifts of love to her students, a gesture that spoke to just how invested the facilitators had become in this cohort's success over five weeks together.
The day ended with refreshments, photographs, laughter, and wonderful memories.
Keeping the Vision Alive
The success of this year's program is a reminder of what's possible when a community invests in its young people. But Charity Ani was direct about what comes next: this can't be a one-time success story.
"We therefore appeal to individuals, community members, organisations, and well-meaning partners to support us in every possible way towards making next year's ICT Summer Boot Camp a reality."
⚠️ Urgent Need: Laptops for Outstanding Students
Among the program's most pressing needs right now: laptops for some of the boot camp's outstanding students, so they can continue practicing and developing the skills they worked so hard to build over these five weeks. Students like Kierean, Ukaegbu, and Chinonso Mbani impressed everyone with what they built in just five weeks — imagine what they could do with a device of their own to keep going.
Help Us Build on This Success
