The Official Program Report: 2026 ICT Summer Boot Camp, In Full

The complete five-week curriculum, track by track, and the full roster of all twenty-one participants

Compiled by Miss Precious Eze · Reporting by Charity Ogechi Ani, Country Representative (Nigeria)

ENUGU, NIGERIA — The long-anticipated 2026 Summer ICT Boot Camp at CIDJAP, Enugu, was held as anticipated. The program was an intensive digital skills development training designed to equip young people with relevant Information and Communication Technology (ICT) competencies for academic excellence, entrepreneurship, and future career opportunities.

This program was made possible by the board and members of If I Were XYZ Peace and Skills Acquisition Foundation, in collaboration with If I Were XYZ, Inc. (an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization), under the leadership of Mr. Cornelius Okwudili Chukwuemeka Ani.

All participants gathered outside CIDJAP, Diocese of Enugu

Participants and staff gathered outside CIDJAP, Diocese of Enugu, at the start of the five-week program.

Participants were drawn from the If I Were XYZ Peace Clubs in nine selected schools across Enugu State. Fifteen of the twenty-one participants were selected from five schools in Nenwe alone. The program ran the full stipulated five weeks, August 11 to September 11, 2026, with practical, hands-on training across three tracks: Basic Computer Application, Graphic Design, and Web Development.

Through the program's partnership with King's Kids Secondary School, participants residing outside metropolitan Enugu were provided accommodation at a subsidized rate, with the organization covering accommodation and feeding for the entire five weeks. If I Were XYZ Peace and Skills Acquisition Foundation also provided four laptops to facilitate and enhance learning, especially for students enrolled in Web Development — a gesture made to help them internalize and sustain their training throughout the program.

The Complete Five-Week Curriculum

Beyond the day-by-day story already told in this series, here is the full breakdown of what each track actually covered, week by week.

💻 Basic Computer Application

Week 1: General overview of computer applications, components and types of computers, and keyboard shortcuts to make computer operation faster and easier.
Week 2: Introduction to Microsoft Word — definitions and uses, typing and editing, letter heading, and identifying tables — followed by practical exercises.
Weeks 3–4: Microsoft Excel in depth — definitions and uses, identifying tables and cursors, logical statements, plus practical work and tests on previous topics. Students were also introduced to what the internet means, web browsers, web applications, networking, cloud computing, and ISPs.
Week 5: Introduction to PowerPoint — definitions and tables, practicals, and a final examination to wrap up the entire computer basics curriculum.

🎨 Graphic Design

Week 1: Introduction to graphic design.
Week 2: Introduction to tools in CorelDRAW.
Week 3: Project assessments in CorelDRAW, plus assignments designing jotters and calendars.
Weeks 4–5: Introduction to Photoshop, with ample time to practice and present final projects — the jotter and calendar designs.

🌐 Web Development

Participants covered semantic tags, navigation tags, and inline and block-level elements — building on the image tags, file paths, and list tags introduced earlier in the program.

Week 4: A Break to Relax and Bond

Having successfully completed the fourth week, organizers arranged a Saturday wellness and intellectual games outing. Hon. Daniel Ugwuja, former Local Government Chairman and a member of the Board of Trustees of If I Were XYZ Peace and Skills Acquisition Foundation, took the students through badminton, while Miss Precious Eze, PA to the Chairman, engaged them in field games, a Bible quiz, and word games. Students were encouraged to embrace hard work, put God first, read good books, and seek positive mentors.
